I have gathered 7 YouTube channels that make dog-related content. From training, grooming, and nutrition, there is something for everyone. These are not breed-specific content creators so no matter what kind of dog you have, you can learn a lot! That’s why this post is titled ‘7 YouTube Channels Every Dog Owner Should Follow!‘.

7 YouTube Channels Every Dog Owner Should Follow

I like to consume dog-related media in different forms. I listen to podcasts as well as watch YouTube videos about dog care. People upload all kinds of nonsense to the internet, but there are good ones as well.

*All the links are my honest recommendations, not collaborations or paid promotions.

1. Zak George’s Dog Training Revolution

DOG TRAINING: Zak George is a celebrity dog trainer and YouTube star who has trained thousands of dogs throughout his career. His YouTube channel, Zak George’s Dog Training Revolution, is the number one destination for dog training content in the world, with more than ten million views annually.

Zak’s goal is to raise the standards in the dog-training industry as he advocates for the latest in scientific understanding of dog behavior while balancing this approach with twenty-first-century ethics. A strong proponent of positive reinforcement dog training, Zak wants to spread the message that people shouldn’t treat their dogs like members of a pack because these domesticated animals are a far cry from the ancient wolves they descended from.

I like his way of working with dogs. Many men in the dog training industry are trying to be pack leaders, alpha males, and overly macho for no reason. Their way of training dogs is to dominate in every way possible and that is the wrong way to approach dog training in my opinion. Zack George shows well that man doesn’t have to act overly masculine to get results.

2. The Tattooed Dog Trainer

OVERALL DOG CARE: The second YouTube channel every dog owner should follow is Skylar Lynch! She is a certified dog trainer and dog nutritionist who uploads videos about a wide range of dog-related topics.

The Tattooed Dog Trainer has a modern science-based view on feeding dogs and isn’t afraid to show criticism when needed. She talks about her expertise areas as well as uploads reaction videos on occasion. Ms. Lynch is a great professional to follow and learn more about dogs!

3. Go Groomer

DOG GROOMING: Amy Leigh has been a certified professional dog groomer since 2003 and teaches the secrets of the grooming industry. Go Groomer is dedicated to helping enrich your pet(s) life and increasing the bond you share with them.

Amy Leigh’s YouTube channel provides valuable knowledge and full tutorials on how to groom your dog at home. She has hour-long tutorials on how to groom different dog breeds as well as product reviews and recommendations.

4. Mercola Healthy Pets

VETERINARIAN: Mercola Healthy Pets uploads informational videos from a veterinarian’s perspective. Dr. Becker talks about the different health problems of dogs and cats as well as nutrition. She has a podcast where she discusses pet health-related topics with her weekly guests. Short clips from those episodes are uploaded to YouTube.

Dr. Karen Becker is a veterinarian who has helped tens of thousands of patients using an integrative approach to internal medicine as well as an array of progressive diagnostics and innovative treatment protocols to help her patients recover from disease, but her passion is proactive medicine: identifying and removing lifestyle obstacles before the body breaks.

5. Paws of Prey

RAW FOOD: Paws of Prey is a YouTube channel operated by two people who post weekly and monthly videos about raw feeding. The videos are a great source of knowledge if you are interested in dog nutrition and feeding raw food to your pet.

Even if you are not ready to switch to raw feeding, they talk a lot about overall nutrition including vitamins and minerals, something every dog owner needs to know about. Paws of Prey’s YT channel educates about the benefits of raw food and they have many informational videos about the topic.

6. Rachel Fusaro

OVERALL DOG CARE: Rachel Fusaro is a seasoned dog enthusiast who has, in her words “…by inspiring & empowering pet parents to do more with their pets, in an effort to keep dogs living longer & out of shelters”.

She has been posting dog care videos since 2016. Fusaro has lots of expertise in what comes to fostering rescue dogs and has learned a great deal about dog care in the process. She shares her knowledge in dog nutrition, training, products for dogs, and all about puppies.

7. Girl With The Dogs

BONUS: The Girl With The Dogs, Vanessa, is a Canadian dog groomer who makes wholesome and humorous dog grooming videos. She posts 3-5 minute videos explaining the grooming process step-by-step. The videos are not tutorials, she simply documents how it is to work with different breeds. The Girls With The Dogs highlights the quirks and personalities of the pets while making hilarious voiceover commentary.

All the other recommendations are more informational and educational but I wanted to include something fun and light-hearted as well to the list of 7 YouTube channels every dog owner should follow.
