I’ve been quietly hoping for this for months now. While life doesn’t always follow the plans we set, sometimes it leads us to something even more special.
This spring, a little tricolor girl named Lumi joined our pack, and with her, a new chapter begins for our kennel. Lumi isn’t just any puppy — she carries a piece of a dream I thought I had to let go of. 💚
I’m so excited to introduce her to you and share the story of how she found her way to us!

A Little Backstory
I had planned Golden Cavalcadia’s first-ever litter for the winter of 2024 and hoped that Halla would have a daughter to carry on her legacy.
As I’ve shared on social media and talked about before, Halla fell ill with a uterine infection in October 2024, and I had to bury my hopes of ever having puppies from her. It was a hard blow because I adore Halla’s character and personality — she’s my soul dog. Her health results were also very good, and in my eyes, Halla had the qualities needed for a great breeding dog. The thought that she wouldn’t be able to pass on her lineage felt crushing.
I knew that Halla’s sister from the same litter had had puppies, and that was my only way of getting a puppy closely tied to Halla’s bloodline. So, I reached out to Leila Lepistö from Kennel Hapsutassun and expressed my interest in a puppy from Halla’s niece, if a future litter was planned.
And so, in early 2025, Leila called me and told me that Halla’s niece Tylli had given birth to her second litter: four boys and four girls—and one tricolor girl would be mine if I wanted 🥰💚 .. And I did!
From Frost to Snow: Here is Lumi
Say hello to our new puppy!

This is Lumi, the little tricolor girl who joined our pack on 27/04/2025, carrying the beautiful kennel name Hapsutassun Donna Petunia. She was born on 03/03/2025 and weighs just around 2 kg.

Lumi has been placed with me as a breeding contract dog, which means she’ll live her life as part of our family while her future breeding plans will be made in close cooperation with her breeder. I’m also incredibly grateful that her breeder, Leila, has offered to be my mentor on this journey — it means the world to have her guidance and support 💚

Hapsutassun Donna Petunia comes from an international background of champion bloodlines. Even more importantly, thanks to Leila, I’ve been able to see that many dogs in her pedigree have undergone MRI scans with excellent results. Next up are Lumi’s parents, and I’m eagerly waiting to hear their results in June!

A Little Fun Fact
In Finnish, Lumi means “snow” — a name I chose because it’s a simple, pure word that feels gentle and light, just like she is. Halla, on the other hand, means “frost.” Halla has always been my soul dog, and her name was chosen to mirror her calm, cool nature and the peaceful presence she brings.
Together, their names tell a little story of Finnish winter: first frost, then snow.
